Board of directors

En Piste’s board of directors establishes various mandates and develops policies and directions. Following the annual General Assembly of April 15, 2019, the board comprised the following members:

A graduate of the National Circus School of Montreal, Anahareo has 20 years’ experience in circus, and has performed with a multitude of productions around the world, including Circus Starlight (Switzerland), Anime E Core (Italy), Trolls (Norway), Generating Company (Japan), and Chamäleon Theater (Germany). She lived in Berlin and worked on German stages for seven years before returning to her native Saint Johns, where she works with Wonderbolt Productions and directs iFLY Aerial Arts, which she also founded. Anahareo is in the process of preparing a second edition of the St Johns International Circus Fest, and is proud to contribute to a wider dissemination of circus arts in the city of Saint Johns and in Canada.

Stéphane Lavoie is executive director and head of programming at TOHU in Montreal. The TOHU is at the center of local and global initiatives, which have in common contemporary circus, sustainable development and social economy. TOHU has become a world renowned organization for its dynamic activity and the novelty of its mission. Stéphane Lavoie has been actively involved in culture and the performing arts for more than 25 years. He was instrumental in welcoming many artistic companies from Canada and abroad, and has participated in different advising committees. He is often invited to sit on festival juries and to international conferences.

Annie-Kim Déry, Trustee

In 2004, after graduating from the National Circus School of Montreal, Annie-Kim creates a number on a new acrobatic device, the Duo Scarlette. This number toured world-wide and was awarded the gold medal at the Sol y Circo Circus Festival in Germany. It also won the 1st prize and the originality award at the International Circus Festival of Val d'Oise in France. Wanting to add singing, music and theater to her art, she joins Daniele Finzi Pasca's company, where for 7 years she participates in many of his shows.

Back in Montreal, Annie-Kim is now focusing on creative projects, private events, teaching and choreography. Driven by the desire to showcas the circus in Quebec, she join the Monastery, a new organization that aims to promote local circus artists.

She began her artistic formation as a dancer, but after three years of training Marie-Ève
Dicaire felt something was missing. Little did she know it was circus. She went on to
audition at the National Circus School of Montréal, where she was accepted as a hand
balancer, and quickly found hand balancing to be a unique mix of precision and fluidity.
Since her graduation in 2006, she has performed her act throughout Switzerland with
Starlight Circus and Circus Monti, in Germany with various cabaret such as Tigerpalast
and for companies such as Cirque Eloize, Cirque du Soleil, and The 7 Fingers in
Montreal which she just join for their new creation Triptyque. Even to this day, Marie-
Eve continues to develop herself as a dancer only now she does it while standing on her
hands.

I am pleased to introduce myself as a new member of En Piste's Board of Directors. I have been working in the field of education for 30 years, including 20 years as Head of school. I have had the pleasure of working with a fantastic team at Horizon-Soleil Elementary School for 10 years, where circus arts education reaches a level and variety unparalleled. Participation in En piste will allow us to enjoy exchanges with people from various backgrounds, that will help us maintain and feed our project, much to the children's delight!

Andrée-Anne Simard, Trustee

Holding a bachelors degree in animation and cultural research from UQAM and a postgraduate degree in management of cultural organizations from HEC Montréal, Andrée-Anne Simard has pursued a career in art for more than twelve years. Her professional career is faithful to her passion and her commitment to the arts, since she has been a coordinator and manager in the contemporary dance, circus and events sectors.

In 2007, she joined the École de cirque de Verdun as a coordinator of introductory workshops for school groups, a project that drove her for three years and inspired her to work in the circus environment. In keeping with the organizations mission of democratization of the circus arts, she returned in July 2017 to the ÉCV team as Director of Administration, before being appointed in September of the same year as Executive Director.

Claudel has an interdisciplinary creation process. Trained as a circus artist, she co-founded the Pink Pepper Company (2014) in Belgium.She has worked as a director at the National Circus School of Montreal and in various projects including Zip Zap Academy (Cape Town), Uniarts (Stockholm) and Le Radiant Créatif (Montreal). She creates Que nous soyons, an on site collaborative project produced by the 7 Fingers and La Serre - arts vivants around the theme of equality and diversity.involving 17 young immigrants and 2 circus artists. Claudel was once an aerial artist for Cirque du Soleil in Japan, took part in numerous cabaret projects in Germany (GOP Variétés, Chämaleon) and toured with Cirque Monti in Switzerland.
